Description

7Semi TO-263-8 D2Pak Breakout Adapter PCB

The 7Semi TO-263-8 D2Pak Breakout Adapter PCB is a passive adapter board designed to facilitate the use of TO-263-8 / D2Pak packaged ICs in through-hole or standard-header-pin circuits. It routes the 8 leads of the D2Pak package to a standard 2.54 mm (0.1″) spaced pin or pad layout so that the IC can be easily mounted on breadboards, perfboards, or custom PCBs not originally designed for D2Pak footprints.

Technical Specifications:

  • Package supported: TO-263-8 / D2Pak (8-lead)
  • Breakout Format: All leads routed to 0.1″ (2.54 mm) standard header or pad layout
  • Board Type: Adapter / breakout PCB - no active components onboard
  • Soldering: Suitable for soldering the D2Pak component and connecting via standard header pins or solder pads
  • Compatibility: Makes D2Pak components usable on breadboards, perfboards, or PCBs designed for 2.54 mm pin pitch

Features:

  • Enables use of power ICs in D2Pak/TO-263-8 packages in prototyping and small-scale projects
  • Easy to integrate into custom circuits without specialized PCB footprints
  • Provides sturdy mechanical and electrical connections once soldered
  • Facilitates testing or prototyping with D2Pak ICs before designing a full custom PCB footprint
  • Compact adapter size, minimizing added footprint in a design
  • Simplifies usage of power MOSFETs, regulators, or other TO-263-8 packaged parts in hobby or prototyping contexts

Applications:

  • Prototyping power electronics using D2Pak/TO-263-8 components on breadboards or perfboards
  • Using power MOSFETs, voltage regulators, or other D2Pak ICs without custom PCB layout
  • Developing and testing circuits that use D2Pak packages before committing to custom board design
  • DIY electronics or hobby projects requiring high-current or high-voltage components in standard pin-layout circuit
  • Embedded systems and power supply modules where standard footprint is easier to manage
  • Educational or experimental setups involving test/development of D2Pak power ICs
