Description

7Semi HDMI/DVI Breakout with 24LC02B EEPROM For HDMI Devices

The 7Semi HDMI/DVI Breakout with 24LC02B EEPROM is a compact adaptor board designed for HDMI/DVI plug-in systems and prototyping. It features a standard DVI-D (or HDMI-compatible) connector, accessible high-speed differential signal pairs and an onboard 2-Kbit I²C EEPROM (24LC02B) for EDID/DDC data management. The board is designed to simplify display-interface prototyping by exposing HDMI/DVI differential pairs and allowing custom EDID/monitor-handshake programming on the EEPROM.

Technical Specifications:

  • Supply Voltage: ~1.7 V to ~5.5 V
  • Connector Type: HDMI/DVI-D female (digital video output)
  • EEPROM: Microchip 24LC02B, 2-Kbit I²C serial EEPROM
  • Breakout Signals: TX0±, TX1±, TX2±, TXC± (for digital video differential pairs)
  • I²C Lines: SDA, SCL (for EDID/EEPROM access)
  • Power & Ground Lines: +V, GND
  • Board Dimensions: Approximately 28.9 mm × 22.99 mm
  • Mounting: Includes two M3 mounting holes

Features:

  • Exposes HDMI/DVI high-speed differential pairs for prototyping (TX0±, TX1±, TX2±, TXC±)
  • Onboard I²C EEPROM (24LC02B) for EDID/DDC storage and customisation
  • SDA/SCL breakout pins allow programming or reading of EDID data
  • Operates from low voltage supply (~1.7 V to ~5.5 V) making it flexible for embedded systems
  • Compact and breadboard-friendly breakout layout for quick prototyping
  • Mounting holes for secure integration into enclosures or test rigs
  • Simplifies display interface testing, EDID emulation, monitoring handshake behaviour

Applications:

  • EDID emulation and customisation for HDMI/DVI displays
  • FPGA or microcontroller-based video output and display prototype setups
  • Embedded display system development and debugging (EDID/DDC over I²C)
  • Display interface lab testing and signal-analysis setups
  • Modular display boards where custom EDID or display configurations are required
